Question 1

Is MADRAS DISTANCE EDUCATION part of the University of Madras?

No. MADRAS DISTANCE EDUCATION is an independent private coaching centre in Chennai. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the University of Madras. We coach students who are enrolled in, or planning to join, the university's distance MBA through its Institute of Distance Education (IDE).

Question 2

Who can join the MBA coaching?

Accepted Answer

Our MBA coaching is for students enrolled in, or joining, the University of Madras IDE MBA, in any of its six elective groups. Admission to the MBA itself is decided by the university under its own eligibility rules, so check those with the university before you apply.

Question 3

Which MBA specialisations do you coach?

Accepted Answer

We coach the University of Madras IDE MBA with any of its six elective groups: Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Systems, Logistics & Supply Chain, and Hospital Management. All 15 core papers, the four electives and the optional subjects follow the university's own syllabus, unit by unit.

Question 4

How long does the MBA coaching take?

Accepted Answer

The University of Madras IDE MBA scheme has four semesters: 15 core papers across semesters I to III, then four electives plus project work or two optional subjects in semester IV, 78 credits in total. Our coaching follows the same semesters, so you can join at the start of any semester.

Question 5

What learning modes can I choose?

Accepted Answer

Three modes: a live classroom batch at our Anna Salai centre with recordings, live online classes with recordings, or a self-paced track with recorded lectures and study materials. All three follow the same syllabus, so you can change mode later if your schedule changes.

Question 6

How do I register?

Accepted Answer

Press Register anywhere on this site and fill in your name, email, phone, address, college, course and branch. You get a confirmation email straight away, and our admissions team calls you to discuss your semester, mode and batch before anything is confirmed.

Question 7

How are fees decided and paid?

Accepted Answer

Fees depend on the course and the learning mode you choose. Our team explains the current fee when they call you after you register, and nothing is charged before you agree. Online fee payment is planned for our student platform; until then, the team will tell you how to pay.

Question 8

Is the MBA degree recognised?

The MBA degree is awarded by the University of Madras, not by MADRAS DISTANCE EDUCATION. We provide coaching, study support and career guidance only. For any question about the recognition or approval of the degree, please refer to the university's official notices and website.

Question 9
